I am in fulltime private practice with a primary focus on relationship issues, ranging from relationship with self, family, colleagues and intimate partnerships.
Couple therapy has always been my passion and it is what inspired me to train as a relationship specialist. Since graduating I've had a strong focus working and developing my skills and expertise in relationship therapy. As well as ongoing training in many different areas that challenge relationships, I am enrolled in advanced training in The Developmental Model of Couples Therapy with Dr Ellyn Bader & Dr Peter Pearson in San Francisco. I travel to the USA annually to attend The Couples Conference to continue ongoing development and to learn from leading-edge theorists and practitioners.
My partner and I have been together for more than 20 years. We are re-partnered and both have 2 adult children from previous relationships. So I understand, first hand, many of the pressures and challenges that marriage and families can bring, as well as the personal growth and what it takes to build a healthy relationship. As a relationship specialist I thrive in being able to help individuals and couples flourish and build stronger, healthier relationships.
Prior to entering into private practice I worked for a community-based agency for 7 years, providing professional counselling to individuals, couples and families from all walks of life. During this time I worked with clients addressing many of the different challenges in life, including; abuse, adjusting to life stages, anxiety, behavioural issues, communication, depression, disordered eating, grief and loss, intimacy, parenting issues, relational challenges, re-partnering, self-esteem, sexuality, stress, teenage transitions, and trauma to name a few.
I have undertaken training and worked informally in various healing modalities before becoming a counsellor and ultimately specialising as a relationship therapist.
My personal interest include; spending time with family and friends, personal development and transformation, spiritual evolution and travel.
